Dear friends,

This year we are focusing on friendship and peace.

Chuck's mentor was Jacques Lipchitz. They were good friends and during the 1970's Jacques gave Chuck a series of lithographs of his sculptures as a thank you for Chuck's assistance at the art foundry.  These lithographs will be on exhibit March 1st through April 30th: "Friendship: Gagnon and Lipchitz".

Peace has been needed and sought throughout history.  This year marks the 800th anniversary of the death of St Francis of Assisi.

Peace was the theme of many of Chuck's sculptures. We are having a St Fancis exhibition in October.  The need for peace is real in our times, therefore I am including this prayer that is attributed to St Francis. I hope it gives special meaning and peace to your life.

Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi (Prayer for Peace)

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace:

where there is hatred, let me sow love;

where there is injury, pardon;

where there is doubt, faith;

where there is despair, hope;

where there is darkness, light;

where there is sadness, joy.

O divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek

to be consoled as to console,

to be understood as to understand,

to be loved as to love.

For it is in giving that we receive,

it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,

and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

May we all live as friends in peace,

Arlyn
