June Newsletter

Updated: Jun 26

Dear Friends,

It’s hard to believe that summer finally arrived, but the birds are singing in the sculpture garden and the woodchucks have returned in full force. We are looking forward to an exciting and beautiful summer of new events and visitors. In July we will have our first art therapy class. It will begin on July 12th and go for 5 consecutive Saturday mornings from 10 until noon. Please check the website for further details. I will have been an art therapist for 30 years. Art is a universal language, and this class will explore that language. I hope to see some of you there. The class is not for credit but there will be much to learn about art and how to read the language of art.

On Sunday August 17th we will have a special opening for a new exhibition of the lost and now discovered sculpture graphics created by Charles E. Gagnon. They were discovered after his passing in 2012. We are also having an unveiling of a new sculpture which is the original peace dove. A small limited edition will be available for purchase. Please watch for further details. Our peaceful sculpture garden continues to be a source of rest and tranquility for visitors from around the world.

After several years of diligent work by a dedicated museum volunteer, they are now numbered and stamped with the museum logo. There are three sculpture graphics, each one is based on an original bronze sculpture. The titles are St. Francis, The Spirit of Peace, and The String Quartet. We are still working on details for the opening of this one-of-a-kind exhibition and will share details in the July newsletter.

This summer we have four interns. Two are high school students and two will be college students this fall. They all are creative, talented, young women who help move the museum into a summer of exciting new adventures. Please join us on tours by registering online at the museum website. We look forward to sharing the museum and sculpture garden with you this summer. Best wishes to all,

Arlyn
