Art Therapy Workshop

About the Course

​The course will consist of 5 sessions; each with a demonstration, workshop, and discussion.  The primary focus of the course is learning to read art as a language.  The course will explore the use of line, color, form, and individual expressions of emotions and ideas. Experience with art therapy or visual art in general is not required. 

Intended Audience

Adults who are interested in learning about the fundamentals of art therapy, including those considering it as a future career and those who would like to incorporate art therapy into their existing counseling, nursing or healthcare practices.

Course Instructor

Arlyn Gagnon has over 30 years of experience working as an Art Therapist and a visual artist.  She retired from that field and is currently the Director of the Charles E. Gagnon Museum & Sculpture Garden in Rochester, Minnesota.  She founded the museum after the death of her dear husband, Chuck, sculptor of Rochester’s Peace Fountain and many world-renowned sculptures.  Arlyn believes that art is for everyone and has the ability to bring joy and peace to all.

The course will meet on the following Saturday mornings from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm:

  • August 2

  • August 9

Cost

The cost for the workshop is $100.00 and includes all 5 sessions and necessary materials. No CEUs or credits will be earned. Register by June 13th and receive a 20% discount!

The deadline to register is Wednesday, July 2nd.  Participants who register by June 13th will receive a 20% discount.
